The LoDown Vol 4

02/07/2018
The last week in June- seriously where has the time gone? This week’s “episode” of The LoDown consists of my go-to spot for eyebrows in LA, some blogger events with Queen V and Totalee Hair, meeting my role model, and blogger tips for creating content quickly.

Monday

I spent the majority of the day catching up on last week’s emails and putting together my weekly goals. In the evening, I was headed to a TV Hosts networking event in North Hollywood at El Tejano. I caught up with some old friends and left feeling inspiring to be around likeminded people. It always makes me so happy. Oh, and I ordered a very good Chicken Quesadilla. Highly recommend.

Anytime I drive to the valley, I stop at Zia Threading in Sherman Oaks, which is my go-to place for getting my eyebrows done. They do such a good job every time. Not sponsored at all- although, I wish.

Tuesday

When I have no events or shoots for the day, I highly embrace the no makeup, sweats & IU crewneck look. It’s my favorite and gives my face a breather from all the make-up. I must have been on a high from organizing my goals the night before, because I literally had one of the most productive days. It was again spent infront of my computer for the majority of the day, but I managed to get to my favorite workout class at Crunch Fitness in the evenings, cook a really tasty dinner- (my spicy Mediterranean pasta) and came back to a wine/fireplace session with my roommate Jacqueline. My personal favorite way to end the day.

Wednesday

I had a casting in Venice, so I planned some outfits to shoot with my friend Olivia. My advice if you want to get into blogging is to shoot a bunch of outfits at once. It helps for the days that you need to spend infront of your computer emailing, invoicing, and writing. Afterwards we ended up meeting our friend Cassie for some wine, grilling hamburgers & a late night event with the company Queen V. I know- what a name right?! Their PR company reached out last week to attend their Summer Solstice party at Skybar- one of my favorite summer spots.

They had wine, popsicles, pizza, and a tarot card reader= my kind of event. I was so pumped about getting my cards read, because I needed some of that ‘energy LA’ talk in my life. But, the line was so intense that it unfortunately didn’t happen. Humph- maybe it wasn’t meant to be and my future is meant to be a mystery. We’ll never know. I came back home and worked until 3 AM on my blog because that’s when I do my best writing.

Thursday

In the morning, I headed to my friends at CRCM laser for my laser hair removal appointment. I havent gotten laser hair removal done in over a year, and I needed a few more treatments on my legs. I had already been to CRMC for my acne scarring laser treatment, so I trusted their services, and let me tell you- i am not disappointed. The laser they used was unlike anyone I’ve ever seen before. It’s so efficient, painless, and easy to use. I was in and out of there in literally 15 minutes for my entire legs. Afterwards, I went and got my car washed which was a big cross-of-the-list task for me. I dont know why but the line is always long and it takes forever so I avoid it.

In the evening, my friend Olivia and I went to the TotaLEE hair event. This was by far the most “prestigious” PR event I’ve ever attended. The Totalee Hair Care line is created by celebrity hairstylist Lee Rittiner. My favorite blogger, Sazan, has been a long time client of his so I got extra excited for this event. I got to meet her and chat for a bit which honestly has been a huge goal of mine. She’s someone I’ve looked up to for a long time, so I left glowing. The event was filled with the most glorious rum/coconut drinks, desserts, food & celebrities. I walked past Paris Hilton as if it was no big deal, so I think I’m getting used to life here in LA, ha!

Friday

I attended the Netflix x Glow party for work, but it didn’t feel like work because it was actually a lot of fun. In the evening, Olivia, her mom and I had some fun girl talk and drank rosé- cute right?! And then afterwards I went to my friends housewarming and caught up with friends before leaving early like the grandma I am. I passed out for a good 10 hours from the long week.

Saturday

I headed to Venice around 4 pm to shoot some looks for a collab I have with Chicwish with my friend Olivia. We typically shoot each others collaborations & blog content. We then got tacos and margaritas at Tocaya Organica. After that, we met Naj to watch the sunset and headed to Open Door at Abbot Kinney for a glass of Rosé. It was a low key night and exactly what I needed.

Sunday

I headed to church for the first time in months and it felt so good to be there. Something about just going and spending a couple hours detached from work, my phone, and everything else and just focusing on my faith is my favorite part about church. I go to Mosaic in Hollywood and have loved it there. In the afternoon, I caught up with an old friend from home who also lives in LA (a different Olivia!) at Dominique Ansel- by far my favorite bakery in LA. Their Toasted Coconut Chocolate Croissant will make you cry a little bit. In the evening, I had drinks and dinner with a friend at The Honor Bar in Beverly Hills. I’d never been before, but their fried chicken sandwich is now on my top 5 list in LA so that says a lot!

I can’t believe this week is the fourth of july- absolutely crazy to me. I honestly dont have many plans other than working a lot, so we’ll see what this week brings!
